Proof Silver Commemorative Coins
- 1st Issue -- 1992 5 22g silver coins set I features Compass,
Navigation & Ship building, Seismograph, kite and Cast Copper Technique.
Each coin is 36mm in diameter, 22g in weight, 90% in fineness and 5Yuan in
face value. 15000 sets were minted at ShenYang Mint. 5 1kilo
silver coins set II. Each coin is 100mm in diameter, 1kilo in weight,
99.9% in fineness and 200 Yuan in face value. Only 250 sets were
minted at GuoBao Mint. 2 15g silver coins set III features Paper
Invention and Bronze Coinage. Each coin is 30mm in diameter, 15g in
weight, 90% in fineness and 3 Yuan in face value. 20000 sets were
minted at ShenYang Mint. There was also a 5oz silver coin minted,
which features Compass. It is 70mm in diameter, 5oz in weight, 99.9%
in fineness and 50 Yuan in face value. 3000 pcs were minted at GuoBao
Mint.
- 2nd Issue -- 1993 5 22g silver coins set features Horse pedal,
Tai Ji, the use of Zero, the invention of Umbrella and Burial figures of
warriors and horses in Han Dynasty. Each coin is 36mm in diameter, 22g
in weight, 90% in fineness and 5 Yuan in face value. 15000 sets were
minted at ShenYang Mint. There were 2 5oz silver coins in this issue,
which are Tai Ji and the use of Zero. Both are 70mm in diameter, 99.9%
in fineness and 50 Yuan in face value. 1000 5oz Tai Ji were minted,
and 3000 for the use of Zero at ShenYang Mint. A 1oz silver BU Tai Ji
was also minted in this year. It is 40mm in diameter, 99.9% in
fineness, 10 Yuan in face value and the mintage is unknown at ShenYang Mint.
- 3rd Issue -- 1994 5 22g silver coins set features Silk, Ship
Mast, Chime, Comet discovery and Keel Vehicle. Each coin is 36mm in
diameter, 22g in weight, 90% in fineness and 5 Yuan in face value.
15000 sets were minted at ShenYang Mint.
- 4th Issue -- 1995 5 22g silver coins set features Acupuncture,
Chinaware, Gunpowder, Chinese Chess and Printing method. Each coin is
36mm in diameter, 22g in weight, 90% in fineness and 5 Yuan in face value.
15000 sets were minted at ShenYang Mint.
- 5th Issue -- 1996 5 22g silver coins set features Harness, Cable
Bridge, Ancient Chinese Musical Instrument, Ship Rudder and Astronomical
Clock. Each coin is 36mm in diameter, 22g in weight, 90% in fineness
and 5 Yuan in face value. 15000 sets were minted at ShenYang Mint.

- 1st Issue -- 1995 5 22g silver coins set I features Emperor
Taitsung of Tang, the Lion Dance, Liu He Pagodar, Mencius and Peking Opera
art. Each coin is 36mm in diameter, 22g in weight, 90% in fineness and
5 Yuan in face value. 20000 sets were minted at ShenYang Mint. A
15g silver coin features The Great Wall was also minted. It is 30mm in
diameter, 15g in weight, 90% in fineness and 3 Yuan in face value.
30000 pcs were minted at ShenYang Mint.
- 2nd Issue -- 1997 5 22g silver coins set features Genghis Khan,
Acrobatics, Monkey Sun Wu Kong, Bao He Palace and Zhuang-Zi. Each coin
is 36mm in diameter, 22g in weight, 90% in fineness and 5 Yuan in face
value. 35000 sets were minted at ShenYang Mint.
3. China Unearthed Artifacts (Bronze Ware) Commemorative Proof Silver Coins
- 1st Issue -- There is no silver coin sets were minted.
- 2nd Issue -- 1992 4 15g silver coins set. Each coin is 33mm
in diameter, 15g in weight, 90% in fineness and 5 Yuan in face value.
3000 sets were minted at Shanghai Mint.
- 3rd Issue -- 1993 4 15g silver coins set. Each coin is 33mm
in diameter, 15g in weight, 90% in fineness and 5 Yuan in face value.
